01General provisions
These Terms govern the relationship between the Platform and you. By registering, booking a trip, or otherwise using the Platform you confirm that you have read these Terms and agree to be bound by them.
If you do not accept these Terms, please do not use the Platform.
Persons under 18 may not place a booking without the consent of a parent or guardian. Where a booking is made on behalf of a minor, the adult who made it is responsible for it.
02Definitions
“Platform” means the simpletravel.mn website together with its related pages and services.
“You” or “User” means any person who uses the Platform or places a booking through it.
“Trip” means a travel package published on the Platform with a defined itinerary, dates and price.
“Booking” means the contract that arises when you reserve a place on a Trip and pay for it.
“Third-party services” means services we arrange but do not ourselves provide — flights, accommodation, ground transport, insurance and visa fees among them.
03Your account
Some services require an account. When you create one you must provide accurate and complete information and keep it up to date.
You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential. Any activity carried out through your account is treated as your own.
Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
We may suspend or close an account that has been used to submit false information, commit payment fraud, or seriously breach these Terms.
04Bookings and confirmation
Each Trip page sets out the itinerary, the dates, and what the price does and does not include. Please read it before you book.
Content published on the Platform is an invitation to book, not a binding offer. A Booking becomes a contract only once we have confirmed it.
Within 48 working hours of receiving your Booking we will tell you, by email and on your order page, whether it is confirmed.
If a Trip has sold out, a third-party service turns out to be unavailable, or the published price or itinerary contained an obvious error, we may decline the Booking and will refund everything you have paid.
Traveller names on a Booking must match their travel documents exactly. Any reissue or amendment fees caused by an incorrect name are yours to pay.
05Prices and payment
All prices are shown in Mongolian tögrög (₮) and include VAT. Unless stated otherwise a price is per person.
What the price covers is listed on the Trip page. Visa fees, personal expenses, optional insurance and excess baggage are not normally included.
Payment is taken through the channels offered on the Platform — card, bank transfer, or a partner payment provider. A Booking takes effect once payment has cleared and we have confirmed it.
Where a deposit is accepted, the deadline for the balance is stated in your confirmation. An unpaid balance entitles us to cancel the Booking, and the refund terms in section 6 then apply.
We do not raise the price of a confirmed Booking. If an unavoidable increase does arise from a sharp currency movement, an airline fuel surcharge or a change in tax, we will evidence it to you; and if it exceeds 8% of your Booking you may cancel without penalty and receive a full refund.
06Cancellation and refunds
Cancellations must reach us in writing, either through your order page or by email. The cancellation date is the date your request reaches us.
Counting back from the departure date: cancel 30 days or more in advance and you receive 100% back; 15–29 days, 70%; 7–14 days, 50%; less than 7 days in advance, or if you do not travel, nothing is refunded.
From any refund we deduct third-party costs that cannot be recovered — airline penalties, non-refundable accommodation, visa fees and tickets already purchased. We will evidence those costs to you.
Refunds are paid within 14 working days of the cancellation being confirmed, to the payment method you originally used.
Whether a Booking can be transferred to another person depends on whether the underlying third-party services — flights above all — permit it. Any transfer costs are yours.
Where a Trip page states its own cancellation terms, those terms prevail over this section.
07Changes and cancellation by us
Weather, road conditions, safety and third-party changes can require minor adjustments to an itinerary. We will tell you as early as we can and will preserve the quality and length of the Trip.
If a change is significant — different dates, a different route, a lower standard of accommodation — you may accept it, move to another Trip, or cancel and take a full refund.
Some Trips run only if a minimum number of travellers join. If one is cancelled for that reason we will tell you at least 14 days before departure and refund you in full.
Where we cancel, a full refund is the limit of our obligation; we do not compensate beyond it. We do not cover flights or hotels you booked independently, which is one reason we recommend travel insurance.
08Your responsibilities: documents, visas, health
Obtaining a valid passport, the right visas, any necessary permits and required vaccinations is your responsibility. Most countries require at least six months of passport validity beyond your return date.
We can advise on visa requirements and help assemble paperwork, but only the relevant embassy or consulate decides. A refused visa does not change the cancellation terms in section 6.
Tell us before you book about anything that needs to be accommodated on the road — reduced mobility, a chronic condition, pregnancy, food allergies. It lets us assess whether a Trip suits you.
We are not responsible for loss or extra cost arising from an undisclosed health condition or from incomplete travel documents.
09Travel insurance
Unless the Trip page says insurance is included, arranging it is up to you. For trips abroad we strongly recommend it.
Insurance can cover medical costs, interruption and cancellation, lost luggage and accidents. Some countries and airlines require it.
10Conduct during a trip
Travellers are expected to respect the laws and customs of the places they visit, keep to the timings of the itinerary, and follow the safety instructions of the guide and crew.
We may remove from a Trip anyone who seriously endangers or disrupts other travellers. No refund is due in that case, and the cost of getting home is theirs.
Travellers are liable for property damage they cause.
11Limitation of liability
As the organiser of a Trip we undertake to provide our services with reasonable professional care.
Where loss is caused by a third-party supplier — an airline, a hotel, a transport operator — that supplier is responsible under its own terms and the applicable law.
Our total liability in respect of a Booking will not exceed the amount paid for it. We are not liable for indirect loss such as lost profit, lost opportunity or disappointment.
Nothing in this section limits liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or for anything else that the law of Mongolia does not permit to be limited.
12Force majeure
Force majeure means circumstances outside the parties’ control that prevent performance — natural disaster, war, civil unrest, epidemic, border closure, a decision of a public authority, or the closure of an airport.
If a Trip is cancelled in such circumstances we refund everything we are able to recover from suppliers. Costs the suppliers do not return to us cannot be refunded — which is where travel insurance matters most.
13Intellectual property
The text, photographs, video, logos, design and databases on the Platform belong to us or to our licensors and are protected by copyright.
You may view and share them for personal, non-commercial purposes. Copying, altering, selling or otherwise using them commercially requires our written permission.
If you post a review, photograph or rating on the Platform, you grant us the right to use it in operating and promoting the Platform.
14Personal data
We process personal data in accordance with Mongolia’s Law on the Protection of Personal Data. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and for how long we keep it.
Fulfilling a Booking requires us to pass traveller names and passport details to the relevant suppliers — airlines, hotels, insurers.
15Complaints and disputes
If something goes wrong during a Trip, tell your guide or call us straight away — problems are easiest to fix on the spot.
You may submit a written complaint within 10 days of a Trip ending. We will respond within 14 working days of receiving it.
The parties will try to resolve disputes amicably. Failing that, disputes are governed by the law of Mongolia and heard by the competent court in Ulaanbaatar.
16Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The current version is always published on this page, with the “last updated” date above.
A confirmed Booking stays subject to the Terms in force when it was made; changes apply to new Bookings only.
